Chiesa Carter
Gifted and Talented Teacher
3rd & 4th grades
I am pleased to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you and to welcome your child to my GATE class for the 2020-2021 school year; a new year of new beginnings - uncharted territory, but we are ALL Superheroes and Superstars in this race together. A good learning experience is built upon cooperative effort among parents, child, and teacher. I look forward to the work and growth we will all accomplish this year. I have some exciting things planned, even in this new virtual learning environment. My expectations for conduct and academic standards are high, but also understanding the great need for social emotional learning and nurture of my students. This year in GATE, your child will be instructed in a transdisciplinary enriched environment and instruction will be based on the Gifted and Talented Standards and the Georgia Standards of Excellence. Our primary focus will be Critical and Creative Thinking and Project-Based Learning through Renzulli. Your child will receive GATE services during a 45 minute block in which he/she will be engaged with me as the teacher and in interactive activities that independent and group work. With your support and a positive outlook, we can expect a productive, creative, and enjoyable year together.
All students are expected to have the necessary materials needed for class within the first week.
Once we return to the school building, some items may be requested during the school year to enhance our learning experience. Your classroom donations are greatly appreciated and make for an even better school year.
Again, welcome!
Please feel free to contact me via email, and don’t forget to visit the teacher website frequently for current information and updates.
